Self-care is not a scented candle

You already know the term is ruined. Self-care. It sounds like cucumber slices and a £40 candle that smells of imagined places. It sounds like something you buy to justify how unbearable your job is. Something marketed to women so they don’t die on the spot from exhaustion.
But let’s imagine, for a moment, that self-care is not a product or a lifestyle. Let’s imagine it’s just… caring for yourself. As if you mattered. As if your body wasn’t a machine for output. As if your mind wasn’t a bin for other people’s expectations.
What if self-care was radical, not relaxing?
What if it was the work of staying human?
Here I'm offering you three radical self-care exercises, which I'd like you to complete one a day over a week. It'll need one full day and one evening of dedicated time: not a big investment!
You can repeat these as often as you like.
